Georgia man guilty of slapping toddler in Walmart

This resulted from the following:

Authorities say the girl and her mother were shopping on Aug. 31, when the toddler began crying. The police report says Stephens approached the mother and said, “If you don’t shut that baby up, I will shut her up for you.”

Now, we don’t know how long the kid was crying, why the kid was crying, why the bonehead mother didn’t discipline her kid or remove the herself and the kid to the restroom/car/whatever.

It’s very possible the kid was a spastic brat who was screaming and crying because mommy wouldn’t get her X toy or Y candy.

And I’m a single mother of two, one of which was a difficult child at times.  So I *DO* know what I’m talking about.  It’s quite easy to set your cart aside (many times, you can set it in the customer service area and they’ll keep an eye on it for you) and remove your child to the restroom (not advisable: it echoes), the car (works nicely, and you can stand right outside it and let them get it out of their system: trust me, they WILL stop eventually) or take them home (BEST OPTION if they’re really on a jag).

/cough

So many parents are worried about disciplining their rotten, misbehaving, unpleasant children because of nosy bastards who feel that ANY discipline is abuse.

Fuckwits.
