Tiger and wife still avoiding the cops?

Ok, so TMZ may not be the best source for TRUE news.
(* * * Please note the sarcasm.  Thank you.  Drive through. * * *)

Here’s a tip for ya, Tiger:

Admit the shit and it’ll go away faster.  Taking your own sweet time to figure out how to put the best spin on things only makes you look worse in the eyes of the media.

Just own up to the truth, WHATEVER it may be.  The longer you put off facing the harsh reality, the worse the media is going to slap you around when you finally do come clean.  You may think you’re out of the woods with the law, but the media will feast on your innards if you delay things too long.

And by the way, since he is fond of his privacy to the point of suing people who talk about him, the article mentions the following information:

  • it is not thought that alcohol was a factor
  • Tiger is apparently on pain killers for an injury (although there is no information on whether he had taken anything prior to driving)
  • no blood was found on the steering wheel

I am not casting aspersions whether good, bad or indifferent.  Merely stating that they need to step up and get things over with.

…but someone apparently forgot to tell this to the sellers of Party Passes for the Cowboys / Giants game.

Cowboys Warned About Party Passes

Ok, so let’s check the math.

Venue will SAFELY hold 15,000 people.
You sell tickets to 30,000 people.
How many is it safe to let INTO the venue?

Someone needs to go back to remedial math.  The prevailing thought seems to have been to oversell the Party Passes, allow 15,000 people inside and have the remaining folks stand outside and watch the game on the television monitors.

And then they wonder why they couldn’t control 30,000 people from rushing to get inside.  My favorite two sentences from this article?

The mayor said once the doors to the stadium opened, everyone rushed to get inside. To avoid a riot, the mayor said police decided not to use force to stop the crowd.

So, rather than do your job and correct the matter, someone opted to let all those folks into a building that the Arlington Fire Department had clearly stated could only safely hold HALF those folks.

Riiight.

Arrests made in ring that sold human fat, Peru says

Little did they know that if they contracted doctor to offer super-low-cost lipo, they’d have had more fat than they could ever use.

Teen Calls 911 After Parents Take Xbox

Parents took his Xbox away for whatever reason they had, so he called 911 but hung up.  As a policy, a 911 dispatcher will have to send a unit to a house if they receive a hangup call and no one answers when the operator calls the number.  It’s done so that if someone needs help and has become incapacitated (passed out, dead/dying, someone threatening or performing physical harm on a person, etc), then medical and police personnel will be on hand to assist.  A lot of times the hangups are kids or accidental dials, but it’s not unusual to actually find someone in need of assistance.

There have been a lot of stupid calls to 911.  Most recently seen in the news:

  • A man who called looking for sex.
  • A woman who wanted the police to tell her husband to stop watching porn.
  • A man who called to complain about the neighbor’s noisy bed.
  • A customer in a Texas restaurant who was called because a restaurant didn’t give her extra shrimp in her fried rice.
  • A woman who complained that McDonald’s claiming would not give her money back because they were out of nuggets.
  • A woman who called police so they would ask her husband to stop watching porn.

Seriously, what is wrong with people these days?

This affects the following: modified game consoles, played games that were illegally downloaded from file-sharing sites, or purchased a used console that was previously modified.

As I enjoy breathing and proper blood circulation, I take no stance in either direction on this matter.

Director Avoids Islamic Icon in ‘2012′ Movie

In movies, American landmarks, Christian symbols, and even Buddhist temples are fair game for outright destruction.  However, don’t even hint that an Islamic symbol might be involved, or someone might get pissed.

So – is it wrong that we aren’t as willing to defend our own religions and views?  Or is it wrong that they defend theirs?  Or, and this is my favorite, is it wrong that we feel it’s ok to destroy (figuratively speaking, of course) our own buildings and symbols as often and however we like but we are willing to give other religions “a pass”?

Cinematical has a good discussion going regarding this, as well.

Lottery Won’t Pay Jackpot Winner

While I sympathize with Mr. Willis and feel he was truly and completely screwed, if the lottery commission did give him the money, who is to say that every one else down on their luck wouldn’t have their winning ticket “stolen”?  I’m not suggesing Mr. Willis is lying.  What I AM suggesting is that, to many people, this would be one hell of an easy thing to claim.

I bought X ticket with Y numbers in Z location.  Prove I didn’t!

And yes, it was hard to resist the urge to title this “Whatchoo talkin’ ’bout, Willis?”.
